So we played the song, Good God, What Have I Become? I really responded to that track when I heard it because it's such a response.

It seems to be a response to the world at the moment that just sort of pretty much sums it up.

Can you tell us about the lyrical side of it? Is it like a disappointment in collective humanity or how it's presented to us? Is it like a blues? That's what I'm asking, I guess.

Yeah, I think it... came out of frustration, frustration of feeling like the world politically is going one way and I guess not having that access to like your own autonomy when it feels like governments are making decisions for you.

So it's like a blues feeling that you have to get out and it's really great that other people can share that in a way because you're expressing something for

I think that feels like a part of Gene as a sound and as a project that I feel like we – you know, the music is such a joy to make for us.

And I think that kind of comes out in that song where it does feel like it's, you know, it does feel to me like a kind of post-surf, cruising song but at the same time has a heart of like especially in the chorus jazz's vocal there feels so raw and beautiful and yeah and um there's like some anguish in in that but

the music is very uh tightly tightly held it's not like uh uncontrollable uh rage and emotion coming out it's it's got a great sparse uh spare groove and everybody's muting the notes and uh it's got a great feel to it to bring to bring out that kind of uh intimate feeling in a way because it's a six track ep and you're uh crossing lots of genres on it what is the fantastic video you do where you're all dressed up as nuns
