by hugo race fatalists and i gotta say hugo's a beautifully recorded album the your vocals are incredibly uh intimate and uh the way they're recorded is fantastic if you wanted to uh uh give some of your dark arts away with that that would be great but it's very very uh it's got a groove to it it's uh yeah you should be very proud of it i hope and uh Yeah, it's like you're full of kind of confidence in what you're doing.

I wanted to make my version of an upbeat album or a beautiful album or an easy listening album.

And and we've been going for a while since about 2008, you know, so that's years and years.

And I started working with the guys besides just it was a great opportunity to work with really good players.

It was because I wanted to develop something that was more acoustically based, so I made it all up for you.

It's got some electric guitars on it, but the feeling of it is kind of folky, a bit folk-rocky sometimes.

If you've seen a photo of his guitar, he ripped the back off it and just loaded it up with about a dozen pickups.

And, you know, there was also this idea about this record that we, just everything like in the news and socially, just wherever you went, everything was getting this dark twist in it.

And so my point of view and also the band was also that we wanted to try and do something that was like antithetical, like an antidote to that.
