What do you think is the number one thing maybe you did wrong or that you, that you observed?
Um, so one of the things that I d- I, I worked out a lot before this.
I mean, I was working out probably, you know, at least five or six times a week, and it was...
But, but it was almost all cardio.
So it was a lot of Peloton, power walking.
Um, I had stopped running, but, you know, on the treadmill, you know, going up inclines, s- uh, stair climber, lots of cardio.
And s- and strength training was kind of secondary.
So if I, if I went to the gym, if I had time, I would then go and lift weights.
So it was definitely a very sporadic part of my workouts.
Um, and that's why it was so confusing.
It's like, "Why am I not losing weight? I'm doing all this cardio, hours and hours and hours of cardio." Um, and when I did actually lift weights, I used the same machines at the gym all the time, uh, the same reps and the same weight.
So I didn't vary it at all.
And I think without any kind of accountability too, I would do as much as I wanted or didn't want to do that day, you know? So if I felt like I only had five minutes, uh, left of my time at the gym, then I'd quickly do one or two machines and that was it.
So obviously that, you know, wasn't, wasn't boding well, and I, and I, and I now understand after, you know, speaking with, with working with you all and doing more research, um, really that at this point in my life I really should be doing more strength training and less cardio.
So cardio, I, you know, obviously still great for heart health.
Um, it still has its, its purpose.
Um, but I have completely now just flipped, you know, the, the order of, of what I'm doing at the gym.

I think that's something we, we also touch on a lot inside the program or in general.

Building muscle is, you know, comes from strength training and from progressive overload, and cardio is, yeah, it's not a bad thing.

I know a lot of bodybuilders who don't know cardio and they-- it's also not the right way to, to approach it, right? But especially as you, as you get older, it's just naturally if your body, you know, has progressive loss of muscle mass, so so-called sarcopenia, um, typically begins, you know, in your 30s even already.
