Is every moment with your grandchildren precious? If they mean the world to you, I’m sure you also want them to grow up as strong and as healthy as possible. Yet, watching them, you know their current…
There's something I want to clarify first, and that's this.
While the focus of this summer series is on helping your grandkids grow healthy and plant-powered, I am by no means advocating that you must immediately move all your grandchildren over to a 100% vegan diet right away.
In many cases, that may not be practical or feasible, depending on many factors, such as family dynamics, distance, and parental wishes.
But what I do want to do is this.
I want to help you enable your grandchildren to be exposed to and enjoy a greater variety of nourishing whole plant-based foods, especially more fruits and vegetables.
Because chances are, if your grandchild is growing up in a household on the standard American diet, his or her current diet will also be rather heavy in meats, dairy, highly processed foods, and high saturated fat products.
Their meals may include a lot more fried foods and processed commercial snack items, and likely less than the recommended servings of fruits and vegetables needed daily.
At this point, you may be thinking, but that's how most kids around them are also eating.
And they're just kids, so they'll grow out of it.
The question is, will a dietary lifestyle like this harm them when they're young, or only if they persist in eating this way into adulthood? Well, here's what we know.
