Episode 17: Bears vs. Bard

Anyway, Bjorn the Fierce costs 3 generic mana and 2 green mana, and he is a 6-6 bear shifter warrior with several amazing abilities.

First of all, he has trample, which is fantastic for a deck like this where your creatures are going to get big, and you don't want all that damage to go to waste if a little 1-1 is going to block it.

Besides trample, Bjorn lets other bears I control get plus two plus two.

Amazing.

Love it.

But not only that! His last ability states that at the beginning of combat on my turn, I can put a trample counter on up to one target creature I control.

This creature becomes a bear in addition to its other types.

Then, if I control three or more bears, I get to draw two cards.

Um...

Heck yeah, Bjorn is awesome.

The cool thing about this last ability that I really like is that it turns any creature I control into a bear.

So let's say I have a non-bear creature on the board that gets turned into a bear from Bjorn.

Then if I play a card like Little Bear that has an ability that states when this creature enters, untap another target creature I control.

If that creature is a bear, put a plus one plus one counter on it.

The non-bear creature that got turned into a bear then gets a plus one plus one, pumping it even more in addition to the plus two plus two from Bjorn, making it even bigger than it already was.

I mean, I think that this is like an amazing stack and synergy of this deck because there are several cards like this, and if Bjorn gets out there early, then...

I am able to just like create all of these bears that just get more and more massive and just do amazing damage.

This, as I mentioned before, this deck's goal is very much get as many bears out there and get them as big as possible.

It also has several finishers with a huge one being Unnatural Growth.

This card is an enchantment that costs 1 generic mana and 4 green mana, and it states that at the beginning of each combat, double the power and toughness of each creature you control until end of turn.

This card for this deck is insane.

First of all, it can go into any big creature deck.

Well, really any deck, but it just really pumps up those big creature decks.

I like it for this one because it... does include my creatures that are not bears yet uh however not only can it double the damage that I do, but it also increases the toughness by two.

So there's a very low chance that they would die when attacking.
