I don't know about you, but the past few weeks have been a bit of a blur.
With the soaring temperatures have come stories of low yields, pictures of devastating wildfires, and moments of yet more political arseholery at home and abroad, creating high tensions and even higher prices.
For the food and farming community, the combined effect of these pressures will probably get worse before they get better, the impacts of which affecting an industry that does not have its troubles to seek, as an old friend of mine would say.
But with country shows in full swing and the last of our bank holidays until Christmas coming up at the end of August, summertime is still very much here, and I hope my farmer friends in particular will get some opportunity to slow down a bit, to recharge their batteries before making the gear shift in autumn ahead of whatever winter brings.
