Stacey Brass RussellHostOur brains are wired, right, with what you may have heard, you know, called a negativity bias, for example.
Right? And a negativity bias is when you're much more likely to see and hold onto and contract around the thing that's causing you difficulty or stress or making you feel a certain way that is less than, like, amazing.
And our brains, human brains, it's almost like that's the default setting.
I've definitely talked in many episodes about, like, the default settings of our, of our operating systems, right? And how if we were to just, like, open ourselves up from the package and start doing life, we would be on the default settings, and we would have a really hard time, right? Because the default settings are not positive [laughs] always, right? Our default settings are like, stick with what's comfortable, um, focus on the negativity, like, like, all of these things.
And so those of us who don't want to have that experience of life, like, on a regular basis, we actually have to very intentionally do something about that.
That's, like, a term that I use a lot, right, is upgrade your operating system.
So what I wanted to come on here and talk about today was this importance of becoming someone who can experience multiple things at the same time, or relatively at the same time, so that you don't miss out.
And so that you also learn how to have management and perspective around the kinds of thoughts and experiences that are inevitably going to happen when you choose to be the kind of person who's having their own business, who's creating something from scratch of their own, that is essentially an expression of their ideas and their, and their thoughts and their knowledge and their experience and their expertise, which is what you do when you start your own business.
