What if the thing you love doing most — the actual coaching, the actual teaching, the real work with your clients — is not what you have to sacrifice to grow your business... but the very thing to…
Stacey Brass RussellHostLet's talk about actually making money and having a business doing what you love.
Making money doing what you love and having a business doing what you love.
Why am I thinking or coming on to make this like a specific episode as if the entire podcast isn't already about this? Well, I'll tell you.
So, you know, over the last couple of weeks, it's probably even like a couple of months, I've been having...
The most gratifying experience, coaching, like being a coach, showing up to the Passionate and Prosperous Academy and coaching my clients there in my private coaching, coaching my one-on-one clients.
And one of the things that I always have struggled with as someone who calls themselves a business coach and who genuinely is a business coach because the reason why people come to me is because they desperately want to have a business, meaning they want to make money.
They want to generate revenue using the thing that they... that they really want to be doing in the world, right? Like the thing that they feel is a talent, the thing they feel they're good at, great at, the thing that they're passionate about, the thing that lights them up, all these like expressions that I've been using since I became a coach.
The reason why people come to me is because they very much want to make money doing this thing that they love.
And it's not only people that like, that are just starting out and never have been doing that thing before.
A lot of times it's people that have already been doing that thing, but they haven't quite figured out how to make more money or how to make it sustainable or how to scale or grow or whatever.
So I've been having the most incredible time coaching my clients because the things that we're coaching on are not always just about making money.
They're not always just strategy or messaging or copywriting, which I'm not putting that down at all because that's a huge part of how I support my clients.
I help people a lot with content strategy, right? Because unless you're running ads, for example, what attracts and moves clients into working with you otherwise is the content that you create.
It's the way that you create opportunities for people to get in a room with you, to, attend a workshop or a masterclass with you or to hear you speak or, you know, to hear you talk about how you do the work that you do, right? So, so much of the business strategy is also content and messaging strategy because that is how we attract clients to us, right? And then, of course, there's all of the skill involved in, you know, in doing the work that you do, like really being able to take what your process is that you know that you deliver once you already have the client, but being able to think through that and turn it into your offers, into your IP, into your your unique methodologies, into the systems, into the forward, the kinds of things that make it easier for you to describe your work, to be able to tell people how you're really going to help them.
And also I'm really like an expert at helping my clients figure out who they should be serving, right? And then all their visibility strategy and stuff like that.
But what's really, really, really the thing that I sometimes get the biggest high off of or the – like what I really, really feel the most excited about is when – we're doing this work, when I'm doing this work with my clients, that is really the deep partnering personal work of really coaching them as a person, the person who needs to be able to carry out all of these things and do all of these things and make themselves visible and have the confidence and move through their stories and their limiting beliefs.
