So talk to me about the phrase mean girls or, quote unquote, girls are just mean.

This is one that whenever I hear people say that or, or even I've heard people talking about fourth-grade girls and calling them all these sorts of awful names, we really have to take a look at how we are talking about girl drama.

These aren't girls who are sitting in their rooms at night thinking, "How can I make her life miserable?" It's girls who are desperate to create connection, and they don't know how sometimes.

... and that we often will try to console or help our girls by saying, "Oh, girls are just mean."

I, when I think back to [laughs] a number of years ago when I got out of the horse and buggy and went to school-

I, I think about, you know, our, our social dynamics were, well, we would get mad if, you know, an extra person ...

Like, if there was two people and we were best friends, and a third came in, and then you felt left out or, you know, you didn't even get invited to a certain party.

When I think about what girls, the situations are like now, I feel like that, I'm sure it was just as impactful for me, but it feels so different.

So what are, what's the difference between the struggles we're having now compared to 30 years ago or-

Whereas before you could go to school and then come home and be free of it for a while, but even if your kids aren't on social media or they're not online, stuff is going on.
