Paradox: A Mage the Ascension Podcast
Jul 25, 2026 · 5 min · 3 segments
Content Warning: Life events. Hey folks. I'm sorry I went AWOL after hoping I'd be back. This brief blurb sort of explains things - at least as much as I want to explain them. Thanks for being here…
[intro music] Hey folks, welcome back to Paradox.
Consider this the podcast equivalent of a quiet episode.
I went a little inward for a while.
Truthfully, I wasn't sure I was going to come back as it's been a really hard 18 months.
Between the flood in 2024, which I mentioned, moving twice, uprooting my entire life, general stress, my work going on strike for two months, going back to work to a complete reorganization and having no idea where I was gonna land for six months.
It was a lot already.
But then December 2025 happened.
And, uh, I won't dig too deep into it because I'll probably get really emotional and that's a lot of editing I don't wanna do.
But a, but a really good friend of mine died rather sudden- suddenly.
And the thing is, this friend isn't anyone any of you would know, so don't worry there.
But he was someone I connected with around the ideas of podcasting, radio shows, voiceover work, and music.
So it made it especially hard to come back to something he loved doing.
Even though he didn't know Mage or TTRPGs, he understood, respected, and enthusiastically encouraged the work that I was doing.
But that's exactly why I'm back now.
Today, the day that I'm releasing this, is his birthday.
He would want me to continue doing what I love, what he loved.
So what better way to honor him than by announcing a comeback tour? [laughs] I'm gonna go back to monthly drops and I've got several months already written, recorded, edited, and ready to go.
So I have a bit of a cushion as I'm still grieving and figuring out new work stuff, so my output will be slow for a while and-- But hopefully you will don't notice that.
[laughs] The first episode back is due to drop August 1st.
And we're picking up right where we left off.
If you've stuck with me, thank you.
If you're new, most of the episodes won't be like this, and I hope you'll go back and check out the actual Mage content.
So the long and the short of it is I'm back, paradoxical as ever, and ready to keep working through this book with you.
