Oxford United thump Leicester 4-0. (Oxford were good in case no one else mentioned that).

Um, I just had my notifications on, and when I saw that 1-2-3-4-nil, I, I couldn't believe it.
I mean, just the, the kind of result coming off the back of the, of the transfer window and everything that, that came and, and didn't come with that.
Um, you know, we are now set as a, as, as a club in terms of the, the playing staff and the, the coaching staff.
So to mark that occasion by beating a Leicester team, a Leicester team who, you know, were pre-season favorites for the bookmakers to win the league, who haven't started particularly well but did come into this game off the back of a, um, a, a victory over Plymouth Argyle in midweek.
And to put in that kind of performance and I guess to reward the 2,000 or so traveling fans who, um, you know, paid the money and despite everything that's going on at the club at the moment, and the lack of communication, and the uncertainty surrounding our future, still went to, to support the team and were treated to a, a brilliant performance from not only in terms of, of the quality, which was, which was clearly there, and we'll talk about the goals in a second, but also the, the commitment from the players because that's one thing that I think has been questioned over the last few months is how are these players gonna react to being in this situation.
And watching the game but also reading the comments from Leicester fans in particular saying how we just physically completely dominated the game, and that's not something we've been, we've been able to say much because when you look at the physicality of our players, um, it's something we've maybe lacked at, at certain moments.
But having, you know, I think Kai Andrews' arrival into the midfield completely gives us a new dimension.
I think the change of formation that we spoke about, um, last Monday, which was kind of brought in here moving away from the, the 4-2-3-1 to kind of a very fluid 4-3-3.
It was almost as if the three midfielders kind of took it in turns as to who was going to be the pressing midfielder in order to kind of, um, conserve some energy.
It all just clicked and, you know, it's, it's the kind of result that traveling fans going to the game, those watching or listening I should say at home, and, um, going into it still not really sure if we're any good, or how good we are, or, or what we can expect this season.
Should we be hoping just to stay up? Should we be hoping for a promotion push? I think that is now the benchmark is set and as a, a fan base and as a whole collective as a club we now know how good this group can be.
Um, and there's no denying they weren't good on the day, but we deserve credit for making them poor because they came into this off the back of two really good performances against MK and Argyle, both of whom I think will be at the very least top half teams this season, and we managed to, to dominate the game and take our chances in a way that neither of those two could.

Yeah, I mean, obviously we don't want to get carried away, and Ben's usually the one who kind of, uh, tries to stop us doing that.
