But I wanted to talk with you about...
We've talked about being in new environments or unfamiliar environments before at conferences and different things like that.
And so I guess this would apply to really any event.
You know, you don't know anything about where it is you're going.
You've got, you know, the address.
You make it, you know, there.
And I heard people talk about the last, what is it? like 50 feet or something.
I keep hearing about with navigation.
Um, and I said that this really is so important.
Um, but even just assessing the space you're in, um, I, I went into this, when I see very narrow building, it was very narrow.
Um, um, Like hallways were not wide enough for, you know, me and the Marty party, my guide dog to get three.
Oh, wow.
Yes, very narrow.
And then, you know, just not knowing anything about where you're going.
So lots of listening.
But even then, not really being able to orient myself.
was, I'm like, okay.
And, you know, you stand there for a minute, you try to pick up on context clues and, you know, keep listening.
And particularly in one of the hotels, when I arrived, I walked in and it was just giant, echoey voices.
open lobby and I like I hadn't I I'm listening for elevator dings I'm not hearing anything and so you know had to use my resources and ask for help and all those types of things um but yeah got me curious and thinking about um you know how how each of us handles those situations
Do you have a, I don't want to use the word fear, an uncomfortableness when it comes, and again, no judgment, but when it comes to asking random strangers for help? Because I find at times, and sometimes I have no problem with it.
I'll just be like, hey, can I get some assistance from you? Or would you be willing to guide me to where I need to go? But other times I'll be like, do I do I really want to go through? I think mentally, I think that I'm going to get asked a lot of questions about why are you here all by yourself and why? Where's your person or or why? Why don't you know where you're going? And those are questions that on some days I just don't want to answer.
But honestly, I think I'm I'm in my head too much.
Do you ever run into that?
