Dealing with Problematic Social-Media Pages0:26 – 1:17

0:26

Some of you may be aware that there's a new social media page taking past pictures from driving schools and essentially sexualizing them.

0:34

Well, there's three things you could do.

0:37

First of all, if you stumble across a page, report it.

0:40

At the moment, Facebook aren't taking it down, but more reporting can only help.

0:44

Secondly, converse with your pupils and make them aware of the situation.

0:49

Plus, anytime you use pupils in your social media, make sure you get their written permission and if they ask you to remove an image, please just do so.

0:57

And thirdly, consider changing the way you take past pictures in future.

1:01

Maybe an in-car selfie instead or a big congratulations written across the image obscuring any photos.

1:09

We shouldn't need to do any of this, but unfortunately we live in a society that seems to deem the sexualization of girls passing their driving tests appropriate.
