Today is tip number 61, and I wanna talk to you about the start of the lesson, as one thing worth thinking about is where you actually start the lesson.

We turn the car around, park it neatly, give a pupil a simple set-off, and then we keep the awkward bit for ourselves.

They might have to reverse off a driveway, turn around at a dead end, or pull away from behind another vehicle, or just simply deal with a slightly awkward parking position.

At the start of the lesson, ask, "How are we getting out of here?" Let them think, let them problem solve, let them deal with the kind of situation they'll face after the test, 'cause after all, you're not just preparing them for the test, you're preparing them to actually drive.
