And I suppose the place to start is, you know, what's going wrong? What's happening there? Why is it that messages aren't always landing or their voice isn't always being heard?

So first of all, we should caveat and say obviously not everyone struggles to land their message in operations.

I've worked with many very effective communicators in the operations space, but it is one of the things that a lot of clients come to me for.

I think there's three reasons why ops professionals maybe don't land their message.

So if you're an ops person, you're talking to a senior stakeholder or you're in a high stakes meeting, you're often having to explain something that's highly complex.

One of the things that we know is the trick of a good communicator is the ability to make something complex simple.

So I think the subject matter is difficult to communicate in and of itself.

And again, I am generalizing, so I apologize to anyone listening thinking actually that's not me, but my experience is that as ops professionals, we do have a bit of a tendency sometimes to overcomplicate, to sometimes get a bit into the weeds.
