The Breeders' Crown is one of the harness racing premier events, bringing together top horses, trainers, and drivers from across North America.
This year, the finals comes to Eldorado Scioto Downs October 23rd and 24th, marking the first time the entire event will be hosted here in Ohio.
Scioto has spent the past two years preparing for the event, and joining us to talk about those preparations, what fans can expect, and what hosting the Breeders' Crown means for Ohio is Scioto Downs Director of Racing Jason Roth.
Now so for those who may be a little unfamiliar with the Breeders' Crown, can you tell us what is the event and what does it mean for Scioto Downs to host the finals here in Ohio for the first time?
They'll race for around $7 million that weekend, and, uh, they travel from track to track, host city to host city, um, each year.
So we were lucky enough to get in the rotation this year, um, for 2026 and, uh, be the host track of the Breeders' Crown.
