Before I get to my question, just touching on what you said, two things that I will never understand the most, Clara, from this book is obviously, as a man, menopause, uh, something I'll never experience, and secondly, how on earth you sat there and watched your knee surgery.

Can I just start with the fact that, like, when you say that at the very beginning of the book, and you're like, "I stayed awake and watched them do knee surgery," I'm like, "What the hell?" Like, how did you manage that?

Mark Hurting, Banff, Alberta, was a former world champion whitewater kayaker, so he gets, like, high intensely- intensity people.

And I explained to him, you know, I had the option of going under in anesthesia or having a spinal, and I was like, "I want the spinal because I really need to know how badly I've fucked myself up here."

"And I need to actually understand and see what the repercussions of just constantly pushing forward and not stopping are." And so I watched it on a big screen TV, um, the, the, some of the inner workings, [laughs] and then my surgeon would come around, and he's like, "Check this out, Clara," and he'd have, like, something from my knee.

And he was like, "We're gonna put these screws in there now," and I'd hear sawing and-

It was like this carpentry project on my knee, and I'm like, thankfully they were, like, fine woodworkers [laughs]-
