Were you without visitors? Like mum and dad come see you?

Yeah, they were allowed to come, but it was for, like, very short amounts of time.

And it was just, like, you weren't allowed, like, you weren't allowed, like, a phone.

You weren't allowed to contact anyone.

I would, like, write letters to my school friends.

I wasn't allowed to do, you know, I was so academic.

And I was, like, what, I'm missing all my schoolwork.

I wasn't allowed to do, like, schoolwork.

It was a very, it was like a waiting game.

How old were you from beginning to end to that period? I

was in hospital when I was 12 to 13.

12 to 13, then you come back out and you go back into normal school kind of

life.

Can you imagine that, being in such a big school? I think there are about 300 people in each year group.

And I was fully aware that I left and came back looking like a different person and I just had to grit my teeth and just go back to school and just pretend that everything was okay.

How was that like at school? Did people find out where you'd been? Did anyone start sort of like...

picking on you for that reason or saying anything?

People just didn't really say anything.

Which I'm really glad that they didn't.

But it was...

You know when you're fully aware that kind of like if this was somebody else and I was observing this, you'd be like, oh my goodness, this person's gone away for months and now they're like back and like what's happened? But equally like we were so young, you know? Very young,
