The Denver Nuggets just got great news as a Nikola Jokic contract extension is incoming according to multiple reports from both Jokic himself, Nuggets General Manager Ben Tenzer, and also as a bunch of questions do arise about the rest of the core of the Nuggets, we now get the biggest piece of news that we have been waiting for on Nikola Jokic and his future with the Denver Nuggets.
Now, I think we all can kind of agree that where the Nuggets are, there definitely is some concern surrounding this team and contending going forwards considering where everything's been, how it's all went this off-season, losing pieces, and frankly, this team being unable to recapture the magic from 2023, or the bench production from 2023.
But the big question is will it be enough to upset Jokic enough for him to want to leave? And now we have our answer on that.
And guys, before we do dive fully into it, make sure to go ahead and subscribe to Nuggets Digest if you are part of that 70% that's not subscribed.
As, let's jump into the video, 'cause there's a lot to talk about on the Denver Nuggets right now.
I mean, look, now that it is content creation day and there's been a lot of questions going towards Nikola Jokic and what his future with the Denver Nuggets looks like, there's been a lot of questions.
Will Jokic wanna stick around with the Nuggets even though it feels like the production from the championship team, it's gonna be a magic that's very, very hard to recapture right now, or will he explore other options? Will he look at going elsewhere and finding a new place to continue his NBA career? There's certainly gonna be enticing options out there for Jok.
But at the same time, when we look at where he's at and where this team is at, it does make it very hard for Jokic to leave based off money and based off the fact that this team can still win a championship.
Now, we did see reports on this as it was revealed from full court pass that Jokic is expected to sign a five-year $360 million deal with the Denver Nuggets in the summer of 2027.
And NBA base also did mention that no one around the NBA expects Jokic to leave the Nuggets as he's expected to waive the sign that five-year, $360 million deal.
Obviously great news for the Nuggets, 'cause there have been questions, but Jokic did say himself that he does fully intend on staying in Denver and that he will sign a contract extension with the team next summer, which means the Nuggets still have a championship window.
