Well, I've been pretty much raised in the academic setting from the very first day of my career as a bedside nurse.

And how do we make sure that patients have the ability to have ideal best practice care, no matter what day of the week it is, whether you are being served in an academic setting or in rural America.

So every step along my way, I've experienced doors that have opened, sometimes slowly, sometimes just a crack.

The doors have been opened that have enabled me to walk through or run through and embrace then opportunities for growth, for development, and then really helping me, I guess, achieve what we all want to achieve.

And that is, how do I practice at the highest level with ethical standards, with openness and transparency? And ultimately, how do I serve each patient as part of my clinical practice? And then thinking about, you know, what do we not know? What are new areas of knowledge? What do we need to achieve and to accomplish? So every day is a blessing.

And every day has been really a culmination of what I have learned from many mentors across, I think, the full spectrum of health care.
It can just be someone that helps you on your journey, that shows those leadership skills.
