I went to University of California, San Francisco, formerly known as Hastings.

So I went there, and I'm one of those weirdos who actually enjoyed law school.

Most people start to twitch when they think back to their law school experience.

I will say to you, it was my community in law school, because that's when I met my sisters in law.

So there were a group of Black women who all came in that one-year class who I adore to this day, but we got each other through law school, and we sat together in the front of the classroom 'cause we were all in the same section that first year.

I was both a local, regional, and national officer in my three-year experience of law school.

But upon graduation, I had that, my summer second year at, at MoFo and then went back after law school.

Started off in the litigation group and was doing general litigation and enjoyed that.

Got a massive amount of class action experience while I was there, and then there were two employment law class actions, and once I moved over to do that work and help those teams out- I realized that I had found what I was looking for because I loved everything that I learned about people as part of that experience.

You and I will have this conversation, and we will both walk away from it with some similarities, but there's going to be things that stand out for each of us based upon our schema and everything we've experienced from birth to now.

And so in being able to diagnose cases and really dive in and figure out how I could be of most help to the clients is I realized that employment law was what I wanted to do.

So I moved from the litigation group into the employment law group, was doing that work, and then got married and had my son and realized that I can't be in constant trial prep mode unless I want somebody else to raise my son, and I didn't wanna have that happen.

I also had, along the course of the way, gotten myself really sick because I wasn't listening to my body, and so I developed an autoimmune disorder and got really sick, got better, went back to work at MOFO, and it was ultimately having my son that made me say, "I'm gonna make a change," and that's when I started my own consulting business.
... a lot of family or support in that way up here day to day with raising a family.
