Is he an upgrade on existing injured and non-injured midfield players at Spurs, Dean? Well, I think, first of all, I think...

Presumably, either it was in his contract or just the sheer force of his having kept us up.

And presumably, De Zerbi wants him and wants Tenali too and wants all the players we've been signing.

I am absolutely not going to sit here and nitpick over any of our signings when we're spending literally hundreds of millions of pounds daydreaming sort of stuff.

If we'd signed one of those players or one of any of the players that we've signed, apart from the two free transfers, you know, in previous windows, we'd have thought, oh my God, it's amazing.

Yeah, it is very refreshing, and it's a sea change, isn't it, Kev? And the latest recruit, Sandro Tamale, we were kind of like kids, sort of pressed up against the window of a closed toy shop, weren't we, waiting for this announcement.

Again, a player, I mean, Steve Perryman was on the podcast a couple of weeks ago, and he's an expert, he knows more than all of us put together, and he He said he wasn't all that taken with Tenali, having watched him play for Newcastle.

But as Stephen says, I mean, are you happy enough if RDZ wants him? We should just embrace him.

I think, you know, there's been lots of griping about he's not worth 100 million.

I don't know if anyone's worth 100. hundred million it you know it doesn't matter i think i think there's an effort for whatever good or bad footballing or business reasons there's an effort on the part of the board to spend money and improve the squad and there's absolutely no doubt that those two in particular fernandez and tonalia are going to improve the squad so i'm fine with that I don't know.

For all sorts of reasons, a lot of which were about injury rather than anything else, we somehow struggled through without much of a midfield really for the last two seasons.

I'm particularly pleased about Tenali because it was hard not to have that nagging, oh God, here we go again.
