So, well, what kind of work do you all start doing?

Well, you know, I was practicing rent law.

You ever heard of that?

Yeah, I'm well acquainted.

Yeah.

whatever paid the rent.

Right.

That's right.

But I do, I did some criminal defense and I figured out pretty early that that was not going to be what I wanted to do.

But right.

I do have a funny story about that.

You know, I was 25 years old and, uh, uh, you know, a small guy weighed about 150 pounds and, uh, looked a lot younger, you know? Right.

And, uh, judge called me one day and said, I got, I've got an appointment.

I want to send over a guy.

Uh, and I said, yeah, thank you.

You know? So, uh, The guy got there, and the secretary had shown him into my office while I was out.

I was in a copy room.

And when I came in, I shook his hand and said, hey, how's it going? And he kind of looked strange, and he shook my hand.

He said, is your daddy my lawyer? That's funny.

I said, no, I'm afraid I'm your lawyer.

Right, right.

I get bad news.

Uh, but, uh, yeah, I'll just, I looked like a kid, but, uh, we, uh, we made it, we scraped through and, and, you know, uh, kind of, uh, did some civil litigation for a while.

And, uh, but then I finally settled into family law.

It's kind of, uh, became the primary focus.
