Listening to wives and moms in neurodiverse families, one of the most common topics are the chronic or autoimmune illnesses women are dealing with. As the complexity of life increases, prioritizing…
Now let's go jump in to today's topic, which is what in the world is your body telling you? Your body is sending you messages, but are you completely understanding what it's trying to tell you? When I reflect back after I was married and began having kids, I noticed these small problems that were coming up.
And honestly, because of the fact that I had so much going on and the pace of life was so busy, I really kind of... missed completely or convinced myself this is only a short-term problem it's going to go away eventually however we're not always aware of how quickly or slow time passes and six months 12 months later we're still dealing with that problem and that was me I noticed that I started having severe chronic pain in my muscles and I was having problems with sleep and then it evolved into fatigue and each one slowly built themselves up.
Like at first it was, oh my goodness, like I can't sit for very long, like driving or in this position, it hurts so much.
And then noticing that my sleep was starting to be impacted and then my energy level is small little things over time.
but i kept thinking well i'm chasing after three amazing kids trying to keep them alive and safe taking care of my husband so i'm allowed to be feeling this way fast forward it came to the point where i was so tired and i've talked about this many times in my podcast where i had these compounded health issues.
And I didn't know what to work on at first because I was told, well, you need to be getting to sleep, but I was having problems falling asleep or staying asleep.
And then I was told, well, you need to exercise more because exercise will help your body.
But I was so tired and it kept rolling into bigger and bigger problems.
And to give you like how severe it was, I had seen at one point, going back probably a good almost eight years ago, at that point I had seen 12 different providers.
My normal provider, two different sleep doctors, a thyroid specialist, four orthopedic doctors, a fibromyalgia specialist, two chronic pain specialists, rheumatoid arthritis, and a partridge in the pear tree.
I mean, it feels like I'm saying the 12 days of Christmas, but I'm saying the 12 providers.
Many of them were wonderful people, great people, But I collected diagnosis, but I did not get answers and solutions.
And that was a problem.
And so I'm wanting to share with my own personal experience how when you begin ignoring these, the flashing yellow light in your life saying there's something wrong, it can compound into something bigger.
It's a snowball that keeps getting bigger and bigger.
It's a roll down the hill and it caused an avalanche.
