So I suppose the seed, maybe I could start with, uh, the weather report, just watching the weather, six o'clock weather.
And as you do sometimes, you're kind of listening about whether it's gonna rain or shine, and then with, with that comes our Maori place names.
So I remember thinking while our hosts do a pretty good job of, you know, getting it right, there were just little things that used to stick in my brain about the, the pronunciation.
For example, I would hear, you know, Whakatani instead of Whakatane, uh, Rotorua, so half-half [laughs] correct and h- the other, other half, uh, not corre- uh, incorrect.
And it was just that spark that, that made me think about a podcast that would help people to, uh, pronounce the names, Maori place names correctly.
So I just, for the language, and because of the beautiful history of these names, I, um, I would just hope that, uh, people would try to get it right.
This Know My Town's a podcast, an educational, informative, funny, hopefully that comes through, podcast.
