So I guess my first question for you and one that I ask all my guests is how are you feeling about being on a podcast? that is talking about cannabis.

I think it is amazing that we are talking about cannabis.

It's 2026 and it's not a very scary topic at all.

So it is definitely time that we just break the walls down and the stigma down because it's been around for a long time.

So I think people need to hear more about it.

So thank you for doing this.

And, you know, this is why I'm doing this is to have those conversations and break down stigma.

But I'm interested to hear more about you and you have done all sorts of work in the sector.

Why cannabis?

I think there's two parts to this question.

So why cannabis was prior to the cannabis industry, I led a patient advocacy organisation and that was to address the prescription medication overdose and dependency that we were starting to see in Australia.

And for six years, all I ever read was, were coroner's reports and I guess Australians overdosing from polypharmacy so towards the end I guess when you're witnessing overdose fatalities that are actually preventable it gets to you and it was just too much for me if I'm being honest so I sort of left 2016-17 so this was also when patients suffering from chronic pain and cancer were, like, starting to push for the legalisation.

So I wanted to shift to a space where I guess we could see recovery and see people get better.

From a personal point of view, like, I grew up very, very natural.

Like, sort of I'm half Indian, so Ayurveda was, like, a huge part of my

life.

So when, yeah, funny enough, when I was just after my, you know, Out of uni I worked in Canberra and I was sort of diagnosed with PCOS then and cannabis was the only thing that helped me.

Obviously I was getting it through the green market and everything and I truly believe in it and it's, yeah, it's something that I've really seen help a lot of people.

I find that particularly when people have had their own personal experience of seeing the overwhelming benefits that cannabis can, it's not for everybody, but those that do see those benefits, how much it does shift those perceptions and those opinions.
