Which Traditions muzzleloader is right for you? With several inline muzzleloaders in the Traditions lineup, choosing the best rifle for your hunting style, experience level, and budget can be…
So the Buck Stalker XT is Traditions' baseline sort of entry-level muzzleloader, I would say, when it comes to their lineup here, which with a rough overview, it is a 24-inch barreled gun.
You do have that XT trigger, which is a really nice trigger on the rifle.
I'd say it's like a nice, crisp 3-pound trigger pull and a 1-in-28 twist.
There's some different variations out there with camouflage patterns.
I know they've got a blued barrel on that one in particular, so just a... a steel barrel that's had bluing applied to it.
And really just a great way to start, I think, for guys getting into it.
They don't want to dump a fat stack of cash to get into a big gun and all the accessories, because there's a lot of accessories with muzzleloading.
But the buck stalker can definitely compete and get the job done.
Being that shorter barrel, I think it is more of a, like, 100, 150-yard gun.
Really good for guys that are more close-range seasons, you know, back east especially.
Out
west here, I don't see it as often.
Right.
Because most guys are looking for distance more so.
They want that extra velocity and power downrange.
But overall, a great gun.
I mean, do you have any thoughts on the Buckstocker XT? Yeah, I'd say, like, shooting distance capabilities, yeah.
It
is based upon topography.
If you live, like you said, out here, you have mountain ranges and whatnot where you might want to shoot across canyons and whatnot.
If you are back east or down south and there's a bunch of cornfields or your tree stands or blinds or whatever, really, it's going to be a great gun for you.
It's maneuverable with that shorter barrel, and it's hard to beat the price point, too.
Right.
It's a great option.
Agreed.
