Do you think that now, after a few years, the EU has awoken from this sleep of innocence?
I think what we've seen, sometimes I've called it age of innocence, sometimes I've called it the holiday from history.
We have war, we have a security threat, we have major challenges in geoeconomics and geopolitics.
But have we really woken up? I think it's still a question because we still, I think, are lagging behind in the responses which are necessary.
We are still treating it as if it is a temporary change, as if this is somehow going to go back to normal at some point in time.
It will be different for the foreseeable future because these are structural long-term challenges which we are going to have to deal with very differently than what we have done for the last 80 years or so.
