Your Name (2016)

So written and directed by Makoto Shinkai, Your Name is a Japanese animated romantic fantasy movie released in Japan on the 26th of August 2016.

So I think this is the latest movie we have done.

Released internationally by several distributors over the course of 2017, and it is the first installment in what people deem Shinkai's disaster trilogy, which encompass Your Name, Weathering With You, and then finally, Suzumi.

The entries all follow themes inspired by the frequency of national disasters in Japan.

The movie follows the story of two high school students, Taki Tachibana and Mitsuha Miyamizu, who swap bodies suddenly.

In the process of figuring out what is happening, they uncover an impending disaster and fight to save the lives of Mitsuha and her village.

I apologise for any awful pronunciation as well.

so born on the 9th of february 1973 makoto shinkai is a japanese filmmaker and novelist he studied japanese literature at chao chao university where he was a member of the juvenile literature club and drew picture books shinkai traces his passion for creation to the manga anime and novels he was exposed to in middle school He began his career as a video game animator in 1996 with Neon Falcom and gained recognition as a filmmaker with his original video animation, She and Her Cat, a short piece done in monochrome detailing the life of a cat from the cat's perspective as it passes time with its owner.

That was released in 1999.
