Shocktober Days 5&6

And, uh, day five brings us Feline Fright.

So immediately, my mind went to go to some of the popular ones like Pet Sematary or The Black Cat, The Cat People.

S- so I kind of did a little search 'cause I wanted to see if there was something maybe I have overlooked, and there was one, and I've seen the title before, and it's actually come across my, uh, you know, my queue inside the streaming services before, but I've never actually engaged because, well, I just, I don't know.

And the movie's called Uninvited.

It's from 1988.

This movie's directed by Graydon Clark, and, uh, for the most part, the two main actors that...

Major, major actors, not main actors, the major actors that you're going to recognize are George Kennedy and Clu, uh, Gallagher or Gulger.

I, I...

Sorry if I'm m- messing up your name.

Uh, definitely a, a familiar face, especially in the horror world.

And then, uh, Alex Cord, uh, I just gave it to him, uh, as a shout-out because, well, he plays, uh, the major villain, you know.

And those other two guys, they play his henchmen, which as humorous as it is, and supposedly a majority of the film's budget was for those two guys, George Kennedy and Clu Gallagher's, um, uh, their, uh, their fees, their, their payment, which was interesting.

But as for a short little synopsis about this movie, the Uninvited is about a cat that escapes from a laboratory, so it's a lab cat.

This is no normal cat, for there's a monster within it.

When a millionaire crook and his henchmen and some unlucky college get on a yacht to go to the Cayman Islands, the mutation of the cat also hitches a ride and becomes the Uninvited.

Yes, that's the Uninvited.

Uh, i- this is one of those movies where, you know, if you're gonna, i- i- if you're gonna overthink movies or if you just can't watch, I don't wanna say trashy movies, but if you just can't appreciate those movies out there that know that they're not the best in the world, but you can definitely tell they had some fun making it, that's the Uninvited.

This thing is bizarre.

It's over the top.

It's...

There's nothing serious about this movie.

Uh, there's some serious undertones, but for the most part, it's just B-level actors with some, y- you know, with some heavy hit guest stars, if you will.

Uh, very poor special effects.

I mean, this is, like, high school grade special effects for the most part, or college grade.

I don't care.
