Uh, so tell us, tell us a little bit about your run, because here's, uh, here's how it worked out from my perspective.
We were cheering for you.
We had a cheer station on the north side.
Mm-hmm.
Uh, we got a text from you pretty early on in the...
I mean, maybe two miles in.
[laughs]
[laughs]
[laughs] And so it was a little concerning to hear early on that- Mm ... you were in a little bit of pain.
Tell us about that.
So, okay, it's 26.2 miles, right? Um, the way that the normal training circuit goes is, for about four months leading up to the race, you run a few miles during the week and a long run on the weekends, and the long runs get longer until you hit about 20 miles on the weekend.
Mm.
Um, I, because my training circuit was cut a little bit short by, to be honest, myself, um, I, the longest I ever ran was about 16.
Mm.
But my weeks were still, like, 40-mile weeks, so it was, like, low-key okay.
Yeah.
Um, but I, when I would do my long runs, I'd get this, like, little pain on my hip and on my knees.
Okay.
But I just kept thinking, like, "Oh, okay, that just means that I'll get that pain around mile 16, as per usual, and then I'll just knock out the last 10 miles." I can do anything for 10 miles, is what I just kept telling myself.
[laughs]
Okay.
Right.
Unfortunately, that pain came in at around three and a half miles in.
Okay.
