Mostly Yelling #4: Oromet (Dan Aguilar and Patrick Hills)

Hello and welcome to the Mostly Yelling Podcast! I'm your host Greg Kennedy and I really hope you like Funeral Doom because that's what I've got for you this episode.

I sat down with Californian Funeral Doom band Oromet to discuss their brief history as a band, what it's like to put together a live show after their records have so much going on instrumentally, a little bit about their plans for the future, and perhaps most importantly, their cover of Alice DJ's 1999 hit Better Off Alone.

If you haven't heard it yet, it is a 15-minute cover of an EDM song from 1999, and it is truly breathtaking.

It is not at all like the original.

They have totally made it their own.

I love it.

And alongside that, Ormet has two full-length albums out there, 2023's Self-Titled and then 2025's The Sinking Isle, which was definitely one of my favorite records of last year.
