Send us Fan Mail A week after The Reckoning — the biggest show of their lives — Mike and Doug are still riding the high. They recap it all: the…

Well, I want to recap it.
I want to recap some of the leading up to it because it's so interesting how much... of an emotional roller coaster or something like that is like, uh, sharing your art in front of people and what like imposter syndrome stuff it brings up and the, you know, the, the nervousness and, and we were facing it, you know, that weekend, the like, uh, the ups and downs of the, how would you say, like the different hooks and projections that pop up that I want to like think, oh no, my anxiety is about this.
And I mean, even that weekend, there were a number of things that were kind of popping up.
And when that one, it's like whack-a-mole, right? And then, but it's really because the anxiety is not about any of the whack-a-mole stuff popping up.
It's about, the vulnerability of it and the, you know, the, the excitement of it.
Dude,
do you remember like, I mean, not to, not to butt in here, but I like, do you remember like a week before the show I called you and I was like, look, My voice is gone.
I can't sing.
I, I'm, I'm, I mean, I'm not much of a strong singer anyway, but like I'm, I'm, I can't find the tune.
I can't get air going through my pipes.
Like I, like I was panicking, you know, I think that, and then you talked me down and we just had to go through all of those stages leading up to that thing, you know?
Yeah, and then even the weekend of, it's like, okay, is the sound going to work? There's a problem with the rental car.
Is everything going to gel together? All that rental car thing,
of course.
Is everything going to gel together with the band? you know, coming together for the first time.
I mean, that was wild.
I mean, it was wild that we had never, that was the first time ever we played with a band.
We're flying some of them in, um, with me and, uh, uh, You know, we have two days from the time when we land to put on a show.
And it's like...
That was no joke.
That was no joke, Mike.
We did it.
And we had some bumps and we had some rocky roads and we didn't know where to start and where to end.
But it was all just part of the magic, right? Yeah.
I think people that were there had the time of their life.
