When most people think about their career growth, they focus on things like skill development, right? We often naturally think that getting ahead is some combination of working harder, getting better, and proving yourself.
And there is some truth to this because as you move up, you do need to level up, and you often need to start showing up differently.
But at a certain level, just learning with your head down, just focused on your own skill development in isolation is not what moves you forward.
I have found this to be so true in my own life, both as an executive and now as an entrepreneur, because having the right people around you not only shows you what's possible, but it also provides you with a sounding board for making decisions, a partner to ideate with, and even just someone to share your challenges with who actually understands.
