Brett EngelkingHostThe Wealth Seed is a really unique program, and I'm really excited about it.
I know Julie and Karen are really excited about it as well, because when we talk about financial education that's out there and available and where our younger generations are going for their information, it's things like TikTok, right? It's Instagram.
It's where they're getting their financial information, and it's not accurate.
And it really paints a distorted picture of where they should be in their life, what they should be focusing on.
So the wealth seed really came about to put out good financial education for clients that are maybe just getting started or are a little ways into their financial journey and just don't know where they should go.
What are the building blocks that are going to set you up for success? One of the things that's often overlooked, I think, in younger generations is the importance of an emergency fund.
And I'll admit, even being in this industry, I didn't always see the value in having three to six months of your cash set aside.
Because in some ways you're thinking, okay, this cash really isn't working for me.
And we saw client after client after client get laid off and lost their job and really, really struggle.
And having an emergency fund is the foundation that allows you to invest with confidence and to stay invested during the volatile market because it's money you don't need until later on in your financial world.
If you're just looking out there and saying, OK, I need to be investing, well, your investment plan may get derailed if a market correction happens if you don't have that foundation built yet.
That might be in its simplest form, powers of attorney for health care and finance.
