In this episode, Jane offers a few free tips to remember as the seasons and schedules change into the fall. These tips can be applied to workouts, nutrition, or just keeping your sanity. For more…
Fall is...
I feel like fall's almost like the second January, the new year with people saying, "Oh, fresh start, new routines." I know with kids, you know, that's when you start the new grade, new classes, schedules, sports start up in the fall that you don't do in the spring.
Like, it really is just a season that can bring a lot of fun, a lot of busy and craziness to your life, but also a lot of new beginnings.
So if you are someone who is either just shifting your schedule around or this is your January New Year's fresh start mindset, let's get you going.
First things first, you have to organize and assess your calendar.
I'm not saying you have to have everything figured out, but I want you to look at your calendar.
A lot of people have those big, like, family calendars that sync up so we can just put appointments, schedules, routines on there.
Look at that calendar.
Look at the days you are slammed with activities, with after-school things with the kids or sports.
Look at the days where you need to all of a suddenly shift your routine because it's not summer anymore.
Look at your calendar.
With that, number two, plan accordingly.
Now of course, things can kinda change, shift, move around, but this is where you need to plan.
You can use being busy, having routine, having structure with the kids back in school, their activities, maybe a new activity you're starting.
You can use that as your superpower.
So many people thrive when things are orderly, busy, even hectic because their time is valuable.
So using workouts, for example, I want you to look at your calendar.
Even if you're already working out, is it shifting because it's fall? It's darker in the mornings, getting a little cooler.
Routine's different maybe in the morning or the evening.
So when are you working out? What makes sense for you? Put it on your calendar.
Even if you're working out at home, even if you're just doing everything before the kids get up, you start your day and that's what you've been doing, put it on your calendar.
It is a little commitment.
It is a promise you are keeping to yourself.
