Ian, before we, uh, hear your views, how does AI therapy work?

Well, there are various types of AI therapy.

Mm.

So recent interest isn't that which derives from the so-called generative AI or AI bas- based on large language models, so the ChatGPT-

... type thing, which can do anything for anybody.

You just need to phone in, text in-

Yeah

... do what you like, and it will, in various forms, start engaging with you.

Interesting what you say about will it be permitted or not.

It's already arrived, and the idea that governments can actually regulate it very tightly-

it, it's like regulating the internet.

You know, every time you wake up in the morning-

Right

... and you think, "The government's gonna regulate the internet," you think, "Hmm." The government's now gonna regulate AI.

Hmm, really? How?

Hmm.

You know, these are big international things being produced all over the world in different ways, so the idea that you can kind of stop it, [laughs] I think we should put that one aside.

Right.

The question becomes app- there is an issue about appropriate regulation, and I think there is absolutely an issue about safety and appropriateness.

How good is it, and what are the risks? On the how good is it, this is a work in progress.

Hmm.

So there are lots of characteristics, and these things have been around in one form or another, in chatbots, but in IT-based systems and in simple alg- in the past, simple algorithmic things.
