which by far has to be one of the most fascinating parasites out there for those of you that don't know toxoplasmosis is a parasite that can only reproduce in the um digestive system of a cat OK, so what ends up happening is the cat will who is infected will at some point have some excrement.
An unsuspecting rat or mouse will come and will eat dirty trash and or food or poop from the cat.
So they're carrying the parasite, but the parasite cannot reproduce in the digestive tract of the rat or the mouse.
What this parasite does to the rat and the mouse is it makes them unafraid of cat urine.
Not only unafraid of the cat urine, but it also, even in some cases, sexually arouses the rat or the cat.
And then eventually, because they're not scared of the cat urine, when the cat comes back around, to the area where it relieved itself.
So pregnant women are always told to stay away from cats during pregnancy because toxoplasmosis can have very, very bad effects on the growing child and their body.
