Merritt in the Morning Ep. 80 with guest Ray Allison of the Indiana State Fair

to agriculture, what's been the biggest advancement in agriculture you've seen in your 32 years?

I'm a city kid, so I did not grow up in agriculture.

Indianapolis, born and raised.

Arsenal Technical High School graduate.

Go Titans.

Go Titans, absolutely.

But I think the coolest thing about agriculture right now that I think people need to understand is that there are good people doing this, that are doing things the right way.

They're caring for animals, they're caring for the environment, and they're quite literally feeding the world.

Hoosiers every day are getting up and going to work to feed the world.

But what's really nice about agriculture is the amount of technology that's in it now.

Satellites, GPS, precision planting, self-driving tractors, technology in agriculture is out of this world.

But what we try to tell young people here is that No matter what you want to do in life, there's a career for you in agriculture.

If it's finance, if it's marketing, if it's technology, if it's science, you don't have to be a farmer.

If you want to be a farmer, that's great.

But if you've got an interest in agriculture, there's a career that you can find that will lead to a fulfilling life.

Well, really, everything in agriculture needs sold.

So if you want to be in sales,

marketing.

Absolutely.

It's all there.

Purdue is a great partner.

Purdue is the best.

Yeah, we've got an incredible relationship with Purdue.

I mean, we've been talking about the piglets that are just inside the building here.

But those all come from the Purdue farm.
