You Will Own Nothing (And Your Fridge Knows the Weather) MITM Ep 27 Pt. 1 of 2

Um, dude, I was, I was sitting in my office this morning and I'm trying to figure out what are we gonna talk about today, and so we do have some serious stuff to talk about with this Iran war, but I, I just, I just think that society thinks that the, all these things that I ...

That maybe I'm too old, but they're, that they feel are normal that I think personally is completely insane.

Like $18 smoothies.

[laughs]

[laughs]

Like, why are smoothies $18, right? I, I don't get it.

I think the reason why they're $18 is because someone out there is willing to pay for them.

Mm-hmm.

And an $18 smoothie becomes a status symbol that even someone who shouldn't be drinking $18 smoothies decides, "Look, I'm gonna make a TikTok video with a fucking $18 smoothie-

[laughs]

... and people are gonna think I can afford an $18 smoothie."

No, you know who cr- who drives the price up? You get some social media, right? Someone on TikTok has 10 million followers, and she goes and she's, you know, films herself having an $18 smoothie and all of a sudden, you know ...

Or maybe it was $9, now it's 18 after she-

Now it's 18

... after she put it up there on TikTok or whatever, so.

[laughs]

That's what happens.

Yeah.

Here's a $27, a real $27 smoothie.

It's called the influencer smoothie.

[laughs] I know.

Here we go.

It has ...

Oh, wait, wait, wait.

Here's the ingredients.
