Have you ever been in a place where you say, like, what has my life amounted to? What has it counted for? You know, for some of us, maybe it was a matter of attaining goals.

They were the first in their family line to get a college education or to get a professional degree.

For others, it might be a goal of acquisition, like, a home when maybe their family just rented.

It may be a second vacation home or a chalet somewhere where they want to go skiing.

For some other people, it could be money, meaning amassing more than their families had had or where they came from in another country.

And that could show up in attaining a top position in a corporation that you've worked for.

For some other people still, it could be things like marriage and children as a life goal.

And still for others, it could throw it into the category of bucket lists and vacations, scaling mountains, running marathons, or visiting world's capitals.

when we're measuring our life and let's say our life success possibly after our own desires, maybe in part after things that the world has us look at and maybe seek to attain or emulate.

Well, you also realize that not everything in life works according to our plans.

You know, there are curve balls, there are disappointments, there's loss, there's change of plans, and a lot of times we can get stuck in maybe what was or what we had hoped for.

And in the process, or let me say further, what about this? What about when times and circumstances change and we looked at one goal that no longer is a worthy goal or no longer a tangible goal or no longer the kind of a goal that would be relevant for today? Do you realize a lot of that thinking can put us in the place and the space where we're thinking, ah, does my life really matter? Or I was doing a real good job until somebody threw me off the side of a cliff and now look what happened.
