May 20, 2026 · 15 min · 9 segments
You've landed on a website and felt nothing — not turned off, just... nothing. Forgettable copy, a professional tone, and zero sense of who was actually behind it. Here's the uncomfortable question…
Not just, "Can this person do what I need?" They're asking something deeper, "Is this my person? Is this somebody who understands my situation?" Like, really understands it, not just the surface version.
"Is this somebody I actually want to work with? Does something about how they talk or how they think or how they show up in the world feel like it was made for me?" That's the question that they're asking, and it's happening really fast.
Like, I think for sure within 30 seconds, but there's some data that says it happens within five seconds.
That happens almost instantaneously, and most websites, quite frankly, never get that question answered because most websites are so busy listing qualifications and outcomes and who they help, they forget just to be a person, like the someone that they were created to be.
And it's getting easier and easier to spot, right? Website copy, emails, social posts, blog articles, e- all of it.
If AI is drawing from the existing pool of content, and the existing pool of content is being mostly put out by AI, it produces the middle, the average, the version of your industry that already exists everywhere.
Which means we now have an internet full of websites saying things like, "I help ambitious women build the business of their dreams," or, "Strategic heart-centered solutions for the modern entrepreneur," or, "Empowering you to show up boldly and authentically." And y'all, I'm not saying those are bad sentences, okay? I'm saying that they are invisible sentences.
They slide right past your reader because they've seen some version of that copy on 15 other websites this week.
When everything sounds the same, nothing stands out, and when nothing stands out, people default to whatever is cheapest, fastest, or first in the search results.
And my friend, that is not a competition that you want to be in, okay? The good news is, and this really is good news, the solution is something that AI literally cannot replace.
It's you, your specific voice, your specific story, your specific way of seeing things and saying things.
