I'm going to put you on the spot here, but can you think of an example of a company that really won by taking some kind of bold bet?
In their first year, they were seeing some good success and they took the bet of a lifetime and they made a Super Bowl commercial.
But they did the Super Bowl commercial in the smartest way you could possibly imagine.
So instead of buying prime time real estate on the Super Bowl, they did it highly targeted, extremely local based on where they knew their buyers lived.
and only bought on those specific local networks in order to be able to get their point across, knowing that all their buyers were going to be watching the game.
They talk about it a lot as something that they were incredibly scared about, but willing to take the risk and do, and it paid off in spades.
It also established them as an absolute power player in the market without having necessarily the results to prove it yet.
Oftentimes, we're so afraid to take a risk and try something new because we don't know if that's going to work that we end up shooting ourselves in the foot because we're not getting anywhere further than the competition.
