AI is everywhere, and it’s getting harder to tell what’s real, especially in the health and fitness world. Andrea dives into the rise of fake AI fitness accounts, influencers and even “experts,”…
So first of all, this whole episode and that newsletter was kind of brought on because number one, I've been seeing so many fake accounts lately and it is making me crazy.
And then a couple weeks ago, as you know, I do metabolic coaching and I love to share my clients' journeys.
I have done hands-on personal metabolic coaching, which previously it was just called nutrition coaching but we added some layers once we got our hormone certifications.
But I have done this for probably 12 years, and then I have been a personal trainer since I was 20.
And recently I shared a photo of a client who was at a little bit over four months and I shared her photo and someone indirectly asked me in my DMs if this photo had been basically edited through chat because they noticed her hair seemed longer in the second photo And at first, it caught me off guard, I'm gonna be honest, and I was a little bit offended because I thought, "Have I not been around the block enough? Like, do people not know who I am?" I have been on Instagram for 13 years.
But then I took a step back because at first I did feel like, "What? How could she think this?" But I took a step back and realized we are living in such a wild world, and it is so different than it was even just a few years ago with AI-generated photos, videos, voices, articles, testimonials, entire fake people online that people are following and have no idea they're not even real people, which is why I realized, let's talk about this.
So first things first, a decent amount of the content that we are seeing online now is AI-generated.
Now, the tricky part about me even spitting out this number is it was done through an AI server, so I'm not even sure if that's exactly accurate.
But the point is, I bet that you could admit that you've seen some, and I know I've seen some.
