One of the important parts of doing Magic design is coming up with things players haven't seen before, but how much innovation is the right amount? In this podcast, I talk all about that issue.
So innovation is the idea that we are doing something that you, the players, have not seen before.
Really, the idea essentially is, you know, Magic is 33 years old, and we want you to feel like there's always new and exciting things.
Maybe you put expansions out at some point, but the point is, the core game is the core game.
And so the real question is, and this is the big question of today, is how much innovation is important? How much innovation does a set need? Um, I will argue it needs some, but I also think that people over evaluate the importance of innovation and design.
