I mean, sometimes there might be things that you do want to go back to, but mostly we don't actually want to go back.

This is about a holiday that we had or a chapter of our life when things just felt simpler and we wish we could go back.

We remember that holiday, but we don't necessarily remember the struggle it was to save the money for it, or maybe the argument you had on the way there, or the fact that you were paranoid about being in your bikini.


about the nostalgia being selective our brains don't necessarily preserve the whole experience it preserves the meaning the feelings we felt the emotionally significant moments that we had So I just want to bring ourselves into the present because instead of wishing for to relive a time in the past or wishing for ourselves to be at a certain point in the future, I want us to stop and realise what am I going to miss about today one day? Because there are probably things about your life right now that the future you is going to want to go back to.

So for me, the conversations that I have with the boys now, the fact that I still see them every day, this particular stage of my relationship with them, maybe future you who has experienced Gained the promotion, might miss the days when there was less workload, when there was less pressure.

Future you might miss the days when you had to check in on your parents or grandparents.
