When I think about what the throat chakra represents, so going back to those subconscious beliefs, I had to challenge beliefs such as people think I'm boring.

And those necessarily aren't the beliefs that people might think of straight away.

But because of the subconscious work that I have done, I know by the way that I'm, by the things that I'm resisting and the ways that I'm resisting them, I know from all the subconscious work that I've done, those are some of the subconscious beliefs that are running the show for me so having to challenge those beliefs is it any surprise that my throat is hurting? because not only is the throat chakra about speaking communicating obviously and expressing yourself it also goes deeper than that because there are many ways that that shows up for us there are many ways that we can silence ourselves we sometimes hold ourselves back we swallow what we really want to say or we sometimes make ourselves smaller without even realizing that we're doing it and So over the next four weeks, we're going to look at four different aspects of the throat chakra and how they might show up in your everyday life.

What does it mean to actually be true to yourself? So being true to yourself is about sharing your opinions honestly, rather than thinking what you should say or think.

And I think the best way to answer this question, what does it mean to actually be true to yourself, is by looking at what it looks like to not be true to yourself.

So not being true to yourself sometimes looks like changing your opinion because everybody else disagrees.

It can look like saying that you like something because everybody else does or saying you don't like something because everybody else does.

It sometimes looks like holding back an opinion because you are worried that people will think you're weird.

Sometimes it's choosing what you think you should want rather than what you actually want or a feeling like you need to have the right opinion, looking around the room before you decide how you feel about something.

You know, when you go into a big meeting or conference or something and they say, give me a show of hands if you have, I don't know, done something or want to do something and you scan the room to see if anybody else is going to be brave enough to put their hand up.

It also looks like filtering your personality depending on who you're with or not letting people see the slightly quirky, passionate, opinionated and enthusiastic version of yourself.

But don't panic because I'm not implying that speaking your truth means saying every thought that enters your head because it doesn't.

It's about being able to ask yourself, What do I actually think? What do I actually feel? What do I actually want? And being able to stay true to that and express it when necessary.

Because if we don't stay true to those things, not being true to yourself leaves you living on autopilot.

It can leave you feeling an inner emptiness and constantly shaping your choices to match what other people expect.
