that was a lot of a lot of standing in line um well hold on a second hold

on just a second you said your wife got you sick but like you went to a con yesterday you don't think maybe like that was it

my throat was actually worse yesterday

Oh, okay.

So you went there sick.

Okay.

I did go there sick.

I was about to say, your wife is catching a stray out here for your degenerate con behavior.

Because like there is like the, what is it called? Like the con pox or something like that people call it.

Like where you go and I've never got that.

I've gone to concerts.

I've gone to cons.

I've gone to a lot of stuff and I've never really gotten sick after any of them.

I haven't either.

And I've been like music festivals in Bonnaroo and stuff like that.

Never had that issue.

Yeah, but I will say this.

I'm always paranoid.

I'm always paranoid.

Like, you're just around so many fucking people, and it's like, you're not around that many people normally, and so you're all crammed in a room.

You're like, I definitely got something.

Like, there's no way that I didn't go in here and catch something.

With all these other sweaty people.

Yeah, and I try my damnedest not to go to the bathroom with those things.

Like, you know?

Right, well, the nice thing is with DragonCon is that it's split amongst, like, four or five...

Like, buildings.

Yeah.

Odells, yeah.

Like, actual hotels, yeah.

Little halls and stuff, yeah.

Yeah, so when you're gonna go to the restroom with any of those places, you're going to a hotel restroom, and they're, like, clinking constantly because there's people in there constantly.

yeah it's not that bad um but it was fine uh i had a good time i saw some some cool stuff uh it felt like i couldn't do much of anything because i i didn't really have an itinerary for myself so that didn't help any um but i did learn some things i learned some places where you can go to actually get decent food that won't be convention prices um telling everyone right now don't if you go to dragon con or any convention that has a marriott the marriott here in atlanta don't buy the food there it's dog

It's so bad.

And it's probably like $80.

I

paid $12 for a horrible hamburger.

It didn't even fill me up.

And then we found a Chick-fil-A at another place.

Like, oh, hey, Chick-fil-A's there.

It was a little bit more expensive, but hey, you know what? It was actually more close to the prices and it filled me up.

That's

hilarious.

Just go to Chick-fil-A.

Yeah, just go to Chick-fil-A.

But, yeah, there's also some other places.

Like, we found a place at a martyr stop, actually, where there's a bunch of restaurants and stuff in there.

So if you're at Dragon Con, go there and actually get non-convention prices for food, which is pretty cool.

Hell yeah.

Was there anyone famous there? Like cool?

There were a few different people.

Nathan Fillion was there.

Oh, was he? Yeah.

Hell yeah.

I didn't get to see him because you had to pay extra for that.

Oh, yeah.

Yeah, for sure.

You had to pay them for

an autograph.

For sure, yeah.

It's Nathan Fillion.

Yeah, they were charging photos.

The last one I went to, they had some of the My Hero Academia voice actors there and you had to pay extra.

I don't think it was $80, but it was like $40 or something.

I don't know how famous those guys are, to be honest.

The

show's famous.

The show's real big.

Most voice actors don't even really know.

There are a handful that I can actually remember.

Yeah, but

anime's a little different, right? I feel like a lot of those actors are a little bit more famous because I guess the fans are a little more rabid.

Even though all of them watch it in Japanese because they're psychopaths.

like oh my god is the voice actor of

goku but also i don't ever listen to you because you suck apparently so anyway who else was there just nathan fillion or anyone else of uh of note uh

the the author of the uh dungeon crawler carl series book series okay there as well um okay the only panel i went to was for um for hell of a boss so uh uh busy pop and georgie were there they're basically like well vivi is the uh creator of hello boss and husband hotel and um yeah and then georgie's one of the writers and she also plays uh stella and octavia and helen

boss as the voice actor

um okay yeah that was fun uh that was cool that was it sucks it was like the last panel of the evening one of them it was seven o'clock at night the one i wanted to see was that late in the day It was the last thing we did.

I got to ask the question and I made the entire room and them laugh, which was nice.

Oh, okay.

Is it a question you could share? Yeah, it was a little bit crazy.

Yeah, I just asked, like, they have a very, very talented cast of voice actors across those two shows.

And one of them in particular for me is Richard Horvitz.

I love Richard Horvitz.

If you don't know who he is, he's the voice of Invader Zem or Daggett from Angry Beavers.

You'll watch the Angry Beavers.

um he's been in a lot of things but invader zim's probably his most no note of uh a notoriety of being a voice actor um so i asked them i was like so i would like to know uh who make like uh who makes you laugh the most while while in the recording studio or and is it richard horvitz And

I

made them laugh because they're like, oh, you know, we love Richard.

And yes, he makes us laugh all the time.

But they actually brought up another story about another voice actor on the show.

And they're like, oh, I can't really tell this whole story.

She should tell the story, but I'm just going to kind of tell pieces of it.

So it was fun because most everybody else was asking more lore stuff.

I'm like, oh, are we going to see this ship happen or what's going to happen with these characters? I'm like,

I'm just going to

wait.

I was more curious about the cast because, you know, they're part of the show.

But yeah, that was a fun question, a fun answer.

But yeah, that was my Dragon Con for the most part.

Standing in line most of the times and I bought some prints and ate some really bad convention food apparently.

I always wanted to meet Matt Berry at one of those.

I think Matt Berry is the funniest man alive.

He's fucking in everything he is.

And I always feel like he's that kind of person who has to be a hoot on set.

Either a hoot or he's secretly like a monster.

There's this big expose about him where you think he's – but all these co-actors years later, he was grabbing people's asses against their will.

He's such a horrible person.

He was yelling at me from his trailer window to bring him some shrimp.

Just things like that, but I hope not.

I like to think my boy Matt, he's – I think I have heard he's a really funny guy to be around, really pleasant.

He's in a lot of stuff.

IT crowd famously.

He's done a lot of voice acting stuff.

He was Codsworth in the new Fallout show as well.

I was happy to see that.

I

do like him as well.

He's a very funny person.

i love matt again he's probably the funniest guy like if he's in anything i'm just a joy i think he's in the new fable too i think

well i maybe get i know there's the um the one guy from it crowd i can never remember his name the guy played moss um he's in there i don't think yeah

i don't remember if matt's in it though i may be very isn't he

I mean, like, Fable.

I know he's an IT crowd, of course.

Yeah, his entrance in the IT crowd is so fucking iconic, too.

Like, when he first shows up, he, like, kicks open the church doors.

He's like,

Father! Like, it's so

good.

There's so many good moments.

Like, when he's dating the girl, and she's sitting there talking about how her whole family died in a fire.

At a sea park.

And he just like spins the whole episode obsessing over how the fuck do you die from a fire at a sea park? So good.

I don't get it.

There's water everywhere.

At sea parks.

How do you die from a fire at sea parks? It's...

It's

so fucking good, dude.

But anyway, this is not the IT Crowd podcast.

Did you get any cool stuff at Dragon Con before? Did you get a sword? Did you get a big anime sword? No,

I got some prints from an artist that was really nice.

I got one for my wife.

Yeah, you showed me those.

Yeah, those were nice.

That's the only thing I really bought there.

I'm

poor right now,

and everything's expensive at any convention.

Like, I bought those because it was a really good deal, because I bought one for $30, and I got anyone after that for $20.

I was like, okay, that's actually the most fair price out of any artist I went to at the art show.

Yeah.

Yeah, I feel like I always get swords at these things.

I'm kind of basic.

I always get a sword.

I think I got a print one time.

I don't get to go very often, to be honest.

Or these days.

I used to go a lot more.

I was going to go to Dragon Con, but I have a lot going on over the next two weekends here.

So I wasn't able to.

It would have

been nice to meet up with you, bud.
