The Agreements We Carry Into September | Venus Retrograde Shadow

Good morning everybody and welcome to Living Astrology with Janet.

It's time to grab your cup of coffee or your tea, sit back and relax while we chat about what is happening up in the stars above us for today, August 31st, the last day of August.

I can't even believe this.

Tomorrow we head into September.

So a part of what we'll discuss this morning has to do with what is coming up energetically for the month of September.

So The opening theme of September is about alignment, and that alignment has a lot to do with the agreements that we make or have made that we are living up to, right, as we enter into this particular month.

We start with the Sun and Earth in the Gates 40 and 37 that form a channel called the channel of administration in quantum human design, but the channel of community if we look at it from the traditional sense.

But alignment here doesn't mean simply arranging our lives in some new configuration or into some kind of picture of perfection.

That is not what we are talking about here.

It means bringing our choices, our relationships, and our commitments, and our daily rhythms into a greater harmony with what we know to be true for ourselves, right? What is true for me? What is true for you? It asks us to notice where our outer lives are still a reflection of an agreement that we made some time ago, maybe something that we have outgrown over time.

So it is a very reflective, inner reflection kind of energy that we're talking about.

So that conversation really begins today as Venus, the goddess of love and relationships and harmony, but also the guardian of self-worth and self-esteem, enters the pre-shadow area of her upcoming retrograde.

So this is very important because we start to see the shadows of what that Venus retrograde will be all about.

And she's not retrograde yet, but she is beginning to walk the territory where she will revisit later.

So as she swings forward, she's at about 22 degrees, 22 some minutes of Libra, she will move forward.

And when she hits about eight degrees, 29 minutes of Scorpio, she'll retrograde and move backwards through the same territory.

So it's useful to understand that this is the pre-shadow so that we can get an idea of what some of the themes are, because the experiences that are arising now for each one of us may become the opening lines of a much longer story involving relationships and self-worth, money, desire, reciprocity, and the agreements that we make with one another.

It's all kind of coming together right in this particular time.

Then the heavens, as it so happens this week, gives us about three days without a major new transit, right? Because we're still at the throes of that last lunar eclipse.

And of course, the eclipse season, which included the solar eclipse back on August 12th.

And so we get some time and some space to sort of reflect on all the things that may have come up for us.

And that doesn't mean that nothing is happening.

It just means that it's the pause that we need to listen, to observe, and to recognize perhaps what Venus is going to begin to reveal to you during this next period of time.

And we are currently moving through a very powerful human design field with the sovereign self, i.e. the sun, the gate 40 called restoration and the earth uh the grounding spirit at located at gate 37 and that is called the gate of peace so together they form in quantum human design what is called the channel of administration um it is bringing our attention to the agreements and how we organize our relationships and our families and our communities and society even at large.

So it shows us who gives what and who carries what.

And is there a fair exchange of energy between all the parties? Does it support or does it detract from community? Is rest included in the agreement? Because that is what the Gate 40 is all about.

Or have we quietly accepted that our value depends on how much work we can do, how many widgets we can create, or how much we can do for everyone else around us? And those questions become even more significant because as Pluto has moved out of bounds now, it is no longer operating entirely within the sun's usual boundaries.

That suggests that forces connected to power and truth and transformation and the unconsciousness become more intensified, less restrained, and also harder for us to ignore as individuals, but also as a society.

Since Pluto is more of a transpersonal planet, he brings up the themes in the bigger, wider context of culture, society, the greater, wider world.

So September does not begin by asking us to race forward, right? It begins by asking us how to become more honest about what we carry forward in our relationships, in our jobs, in our creativity, in every respect, right? Which agreements will still support peace in your life and restoration? Which ones need to be renegotiated? Because agreements aren't hard and fast and in concrete.

They can always be renegotiated.

And which agreements may no longer be aligned with the person you are becoming, right? Sometimes you've got to change those agreements.

And that is the conversation going on in the cosmos as we enter into this particular week.

And it is where we also begin this morning.
