Hey there, Little Bunny! ❤️ You've caught me in such an intellectual mood this week! Grab your notecards because I'll be dropping plenty of advanced vocabulary words. 📚 I ramble through some of our…
And I'd love to know what stuff you've got going on, little bunny.
Sometimes things are going good, sometimes they're going bad.
I'll tell you something a little bit honest.
Well, I'm always honest with you, but I'll tell you something a little bit vulnerable, something that might be ordinarily a secret, which is that I felt a little bit isolated this past week or two.
And so that movie night together last night really, really helped.
It's really nice to have you, little bunny.
As good as I make your life, you make my life better too.
And fortunately, I have many people in my... or a few, a few really close people in my life whom I can count on.
But sometimes things can feel isolating, you know? And sometimes it's as simple as you go to some public event and you're trying to connect with people that you don't know very well, or you're meeting people for the first time.
You're trying to connect with people that things aren't quite locked into place between you two.
And it doesn't go so right.
You know what I mean? You come away from an interaction feeling like, "Mm, kinda wish that had landed better." Or maybe you feel this social discomfort.
Do you feel that sometimes when you socialize, little bunny? I had the realization that sometimes it's not social anxiety, but sometimes there's a thing that I'm coining social discomfort.
And surely that phrase has been used before, but I'm contrasting it with social anxiety.
I think at this point in my life, I've overcome quite a bit almost all of the strong social anxiety I used to feel.
But sometimes, uh, this was just two days ago, I had a night where I went to this public event where I'm kind of acquaintances with different people and I'm meeting other people for the first time, and I just felt social discomfort.
It wasn't a fear of the social interactions, but it was just this...
The interactions don't quite land right, and I just wanted to eject out of any conversation.
I feel that things aren't landing the way I would like.
And do you ever feel that way, little bunny? And so right now I'm trying to reflect on what is the appropriate course of action.
Apparently, it's quite masculine to just take your problems and analyze it as a course of action that needs to be taken next.
But that's what I'm doing.
I'm trying to figure out, do I expose myself to more socializing? Do I retreat into something introverted? Do I seek time with people I'm more familiar with? Do I try again with the same people and just...
Who knows, little bunny.
And that's when journaling comes in handy.
